| Description of the problem | Beginning at approximately 60,500 miles my 2007 mercedes benz e350 4matic sedan developed a strong gasoline odor inside the vehicle. This smell progressively got stronger and upon inspection at the dealership it was found that the sending units attached to the fuel tanks below the rear driver's side and passenger side seats were leaking fuel through a faulty seal causing the fuel to absorb into the seat cushion. This likely created a potential fire hazard inside the cabin of the vehicle, particularly in the rear seat. |
